January 12 in ‘12: A Bag A Day
I’m going to keep a running log here of progress on this packing up project. I sense a more organized house and basement by January 31. Good deal!
What I’m ditching in January 2012:
Day 1: No longer used Christmas items as boxes are being packed and put away for next year.
Day 2: Ditto. We have twelve years of Christmas decorations and gifted decor items that need another home.
Day 3: Ditto. Unused, unwanted, unnecessary Christmas schwag.
Day 4: Junk mail & school papers scattered on assorted surfaces for recycling or trash. That shouldn’t count. And it’s still on the dining room table.
Day 4: Bag of clothes to pass along to a friend.
Day 5: Large framed poster we no longer hang in our dining room.
Day 6: Side table from the basement (that will really just move to my office at church, but it’s out of the house.)
Day 7: Super large box of clothes I no longer wear (style is changing/size has changed).
Day 8: Finally packed Christmas boxes of small gifts to mail to Alabama
Day 9: and to Georgia
Day 10: Box of baby items to brother and sister-in-law
Day 11: Box of cloth diapers to brother and sister-in-law
Day 12: Box of baby boy clothing to brother and sister-in-law
Day 13: Assorted glasses in the basement; to Salvation Army
Day 14: Assorted bags & lampshades in basement; to Salvation Army
Day 15: VHS tapes & DVDs that we will never, ever watch again; to Salvation Army
Day 16: Camping/yoga mats (not sure which) and an old scale; to Salvation Army
Day 17: A couple of years’ worth of cooking magazines…which I inherited from a neighbor; to recycling
LOVE this idea. Challenging myself to do it too! Loved seeing the adorable Christmas pics of the kiddos. They are getting so big! Blessings for happy and healthy new year!
excellent! are you following the pinterest list or creating your own?
Following the idea but not a particular list. There’s something in every room around here, so I’ll have no shortage of options! I’ll link to the pin when I update at the end of the month.
Thanks, LKTB. You managed a REAL card and REAL photos. I felt a bit lazy with my CVS card this year…but I wanted to get something out. Sheesh. I should add “I will feel no guilt about Christmas” to my December goals.
